“Blog that Converts really helped me to get clarity and figure out how to break down the subject areas that I could blog about initially (then build on in the future).”

Meet Tina Blain, who was struggling to build a strong presence online. I asked her a few questions and this is what she said:

When working on your blog, what was your biggest struggle? And how did Blog that Converts help you overcome it?

When I first thought about learning how to blog, my main concern was how to avoid randomness. I’m all for providing quality content but I didn’t want to just write loads of ad hoc posts without knowing how/if they could help me get to where I wanted to go to.

BTC really helped me to get clarity and figure out how to break down the subject areas that I could blog about initially (then build on in the future) in a great amount of detail.

For example, I developed all the titles of my founding posts for one subject area before I started to write a single post. Having this clear sense of direction has boosted my motivation to continue with my first blogging project so much that I’m forever grateful – thank you!

What specific results have you achieved since enrolling in Blog that Converts?

I decided to take BTC because I knew that I wanted to start building some sort of presence online. When I started the course, the plan was to use my employers website as the test case and I was so inspired that I ended up creating a blog on my own StorySimplicity.

I’m achieving so much by following the advice set out in BTC that I can’t list it all here, but here’s one good example…

I’m really impressed with the interaction that my blog post where I used content archetype #1.

[Note from Derek: In Blog that Converts, I share 7 content archetypes that show you how to write content that spreads].

This post generated 10 comments which I think is great given that I only had 5 people on my mailing list when when the post was published!’ ! And it is still the post with the highest amount of comments on my blog.

Contacting the people who I mentioned in my post also enable me to initiate contact with people in the same field who I had not contacted before which I think is a great first step for building new virtual relationships.
